NEFC

NEFC had a very successful 2010.  The club crowned three Massachusetts State Cup Champion’s, two Northeast Regional League Champions and a Massachusetts Premier League Andre Cup Champion.  NEFC also had 3 teams reach the Massachusetts State Finals and one team reached the Massachusetts Premier League Andre Cup Final.

 
The first team to win a State Championship was NEFC Manchester United coached by Christian Battaglia.They defeated FC Greater Boston by a score of 2-0 in the U13 boys final.  With the win the boys earned a trip to the Region 1 Championships in West Virginia were they lost in the semi finals. The U13 boys had earlier defeated FC Blazers in the Northeast Regional League final.   The team is currently ranked 8th in the country.
 
The second team to win a State Championship was NEFC Eagles coached by Ed Kelly who defeated MPS Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 in the U15 boys final. With the win the boys earned a trip to the Region 1 championships in West Virginia.
 
NEFC U19 Girls coached by Ru Sweeney won the Massachusetts State Championship by defeating MPS Renegades 2-1
 
NEFC Pride coached by Brian Mazar became Massachusetts Andre Cup Champions by defeating NEFC Arsenal by a score of 2-0.  Both teams reached the final by winning their semifinal matches against NEFC sides. I t was a tremendous achievement to have all four NEFC U11 teams play against each other in the semi finals.
 
In addition to the State Champions, NEFC had the following teams play in Massachusetts State Finals in 2010. NEFC Express (U13 girls) NEFC Elite (U15 girls) NEFC Arsenal (U10 girls)and NEFC Pumas (U17 boys).
 
Overall, NEFC had 21 teams reach the quarterfinals of their respective age groups, and 11 teams that advanced to the semifinals or beyond.
