Do current NEFC players have to tryout? register online?
Yes and yes.
Should players attend all tryouts?
It is recommended and extremely beneficial to attend all tryouts. This gives the NEFC coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate you on multiple occasions allowing for a greater understanding of a player’s abilities. If the player is only able to make one tryout it is very important you let the coach know so they can prepare appropriately.
Some teams have call backs. What is the call back for?
In some age groups we will have multiple teams and many players trying out. The call back is for coaches to take another look at specific players.
When will we know if our son/daughter made the team?
Players will be notified within 2 days of the final tryout with one of three responses:
1) You are offered a roster spot on the roster and asked to register within 48 hours.
2) The coach would like to see you again and invite you to a call back.
3) You were not offered a spot on the roster.
How many teams will there be in each age group?
This will vary by age group - review the website for this years teams or contact the coaching director.
Who will be the coach for our age group?
The tryout site director will provide information at the time of tryouts. NEFC may sponsor multiple teams, so there maybe multiple coaches for each age group.
What league will our team be playing in?
The tryout site director will provide information on the league, tournaments and expectations for each team at the time of tryouts. NEFC will be sponsoring teams in Region 1 Premier League, Region 1 Northeast League, NEP, MAPLE and multiple tournaments.
What age group should my son/daughter tryout for?
Players should tryout for age appropriate teams. MA Youth Soccer has a birthchart online. The list is currently for the 2010/2011 Season, so please adjust. VIEW HERE
What region should my son/daughter try-out for?

I notice that you have multiple teams in an age group how does my daughter/son try-out for a particular team?
At Tryouts, players will all be evaluated extensively, and placed appropriately based on evaluated experience level.
Where will practices for XYZ team be? When will practices be?
Practices will be held within the team's region. Check out our field link for NEFC fields locations. Practice times and specfic locations are still to be determined. More info will be available from the tryout coordinator.
What will the cost be to pay for NEFC?
Team fees will be provdied at the tryout locations. NEFC is a non-profit organization. We offer first class coaching, facilities, competiton and development. NEFC fees are priced competitively.
My son/daughter is younger than 9 just wants to train, can s/he do that?
Our Youth Academy is designed to develop players individual abilites to their potential, and accepts all players 6-11 years old. The link to register for the Youth Academy is HERE
My son/daughter is interested in NEFC but we cannot afford the registration fees. Do you have scholarships?
NEFC has the capacity to provide some scholarship asistance for player's families with need. Please contact the coach of the team after being offered a spot on the roster for more details.
What does my son/daughter need to bring to tryouts?
Properly inflated soccer ball, water, shin guards, rain jacket.
What if it is raining the day of tryouts? Will you cancel?
It is unlikely we will cancel. We will post any changes on the www.NEFC.us website, as well as email anyone preregistered as soon as possible in case of a change in the schedule.
What if I cannot make all the scheduled dates?
If you are unable to make the tryouts please notify the appropriate age group coordinator listed for alternate options to get evaluated.
Will I receive a phone call or email about my status?
Depends on the coach, many use email. The coaching staff will let you know how the process will be handled at tryouts. Everyone will hear back within 48 hours of the last tryout.
Do I need to register on-line?
Yes, this will allow us to prepare for expected numbers, and keep you informed of any changes. It will also expedite the sign in process when you arrive.
Can my child attend tryouts in multiple regions? If so, does my child need to register for each program?
In order to tryout in a region other than your own, you must contact the appropriate Age Group Coordinator.
Can my child tryout for an older team?
You must contact the appropriate Age Group Coordinator. It is not our policy to allow players to play up unless it is clear that playing up would be in the player's best interests and they are good enough to do so.
How does the uniform process work?
There will be uniforms available to try on at various locations during tryouts. Uniforms can be ordered directly through Eurosport and Adidas during the team registration process. This occurs after the player has been offered a spot on a roster.
If I get offered a spot, when do I need to pay?
A deposit is required to place a player on a roster, so once you are offered a roster spot on a team you will need to make the deposit within 24-48 hours.
